Nickel-iron accumulator (Ni-Fe) is, together with nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd), the most widespread type of alkaline batteries. It is characterized by long life and durability. It is considered more environmentally friendly because it does not contain dangerous metals such as lead or cadmium. The disadvantage is its lower energy density.
